Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a third-person action-adventure game with RPG and stealth elements. It is the twelfth installment in the Assassin's Creed series, following directly after Odyssey. In Valhalla, the player takes on the role of the Viking Eivor, who strives to establish their clan on foreign soil and build a settlement.
The game is set in the 9th century, during the Viking expansion into the British Isles. The protagonist and leader, Eivor, along with their clan, arrives in East Anglia to settle on new fertile land, build a settlement, and secure a bright future for their people. To achieve this, they must gain the support of the English, develop infrastructure, and strengthen their position—but things don't go as smoothly as one might hope. Eivor will face opposition from the four main leaders of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, and beyond. Many adversaries will cross the Viking's path as they explore this new world.
The gameplay in Assassin's Creed Valhalla takes place in a vast open world, spanning from the cold shores of Norway to the British Isles. One of the game's key features is an innovation in the combat system that allows the use of two weapon types simultaneously (axe and sword, or shield and sword). Additionally, the wrist blade has now been moved to the outside of the arm. It is also worth noting that Eivor has a stamina bar, which is spent on blocks and dodges, and health can be restored in battle using healing food.
