Nikkei Asia has written that the leading chip manufacturer, TSMC, plans to increase the value of its semiconductor products next year. According to the sources of the publication, the company is already in negotiations with partners, within which it reports an increase in the cost of chips.
According to Nikkei Asia, the change will affect both relatively old chips in a 7-nanometer process and modern flagman chips. The increase will be between 5% and 10%, depending on the partner company and the type of product produced.
It is also reported that for additional deliveries beyond the quantities specified in the contract, TSMC will be charged an additional surcharge of 10-15%.
In early 2026, TSMC reported record demand for the production of 2-nanometer chips.
