Escape from Tarkov, known for its uncompromising complexity, takes a course on accessibility. Battlestate Games studio head Nikita Buyanov acknowledged that many elements of the game were overdone without any real benefit for gameplay. To help newcomers to the project after its release on Steam, developers began implementing more understandable mechanics.
Visual cues for quest items have already been added to the game, and a GPS navigator will be available in the near future to help newcomers find escape points without turning to third-party guidebooks.
According to Buyanov, the goal of these changes is not to turn a hardcore shooter into a "walk," but to remove artificial barriers that prevent you from learning in the game. The developers want new users to be able to comfortably go through the initial stage and gradually enter the full, harsh world of Tarkov without losing the unique spirit of the project.
