CD Projekt RED announced that sales of Cyberpunk 2077 had reached 40 million copies by July 3, 2026.

The game is likely to continue selling at a steady pace. In November 2025, the company reported 35 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 sold. Thus, in about seven months the project was bought at least five million times.

Paul Sasko, one of the directors of the upcoming sequel game, thanked players for their support and noted that without them this result would not have been achieved.

"Incredibly grateful for your tremendous support, my friends - thanks to you we can do all of this, entertain and please you"
- Pavel Sasko, Deputy Game Director of Cyberpunk 2
