Techland developers have officially confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast will not appear on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Despite the long wait of fans, the studio decided to abandon the game’s legacy "iron".
In the official statement, the authors stressed that the project was originally designed with a focus on modern technology. Advanced graphics, a large-scale open world, and a complex movement system require computing power that consoles simply lack in previous years. According to the developers, an attempt at porting would lead to serious tradeoffs that would negatively affect the quality of the game experience.
The main claim of the community was the studio’s long silence: information about the release on the old consoles remained on the official website until recently. Now the owners of PS4 and Xbox One only need to change platforms to appreciate this high-profile action, which was originally intended as a supplement but has gone on to become a full-fledged hit.
