Meccha Chameleon, the popular "string simulator," faces a serious security threat. Players discovered that some user cards in the Steam Workshop contain malware. When they were uploaded to users' computers, the trolls penetrated, leading to chaos: hackers hacked into the official Discord game server and even placed a fake VR version of the project in the Meta Quest store.
The game developer, Lemorion_1224, confirmed the incident and urged fans not to buy the fake product. For now, the situation is beginning to stabilize: the authors have regained control of Discord and released an update 3.3.1 that enhances customer protection.
However, the developers strongly recommend that players refrain from uploading user content and use only official maps for the time being so as not to put their data at risk.
